Power of water
active 3 months, 2 weeks agoSustainable sources of renewable energy currently focus on obtaining energy from the sun or wind. As if it has been forgotten that energy was obtained mainly from water since ancient times. Due to conservation practices and government regulations, some historic buildings, both in public and private hands, are not possible to use photovoltaics or to set up a wind farm next to the historic building. Public institutions, such as caretakers of historic buildings or museums, are not initially associated with high demand for electricity. However, due to the need to maintain an appropriate microclimate for monuments in historic buildings, these requirements are often high. Public institutions should be role models for others and educate the public. It is part of their mission. Our project idea is to go back to the roots of old buildings – i.e. mills, forges – and to produce renewable energy from water, which will allow us to become independent from obtaining electricity from sources based on fossil fuels. We want to explore the possibilities of such solutions in the South Baltic Region, implement model and efficient solutions that will be implemented without the need for changes in the water channels, and also promote blue energy among all inland waters around.
