active 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Hi!

Taurage municipality (Lithuania) is looking for partners who would be interested to join a project for Interreg V-A Southern Baltic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, Programme Measure 2.3 Supporting a circular and more resource efficient development.
Project idea is to test the ”Pay-As-You-Waste” waste collection and pricing model: to create a pilot model (infrastructural, policy and educational) for charging citizens for the amount of trash they throw away rather than fixed pricing with the goals of increasing recycled materials collection as well as to create a fair pricing model. The project would include infrastructural changes (e.g. waste cards), data management, policy creation as well as educating citizens on the model and waste management.

The coastal regions of 5 EU Member States define the South Baltic Programme area are applicable to participate in the project:
Germany: districts (Landkreise) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Nordwestmecklenburg, Rostock, Vorpommern-Rügen, Vorpommern-Greifswald and district-free city (kreisfreie Stadt): Rostock.
Denmark: Regional Municipality of Bornholm and Region Zealand (subregions: Østsjælland, Vest- og Sydsjælland).
Lithuania: counties of Klaipėda, Tauragė and Telšiai
Poland: subregions of: Miasto Szczecin, Szczeciński, Szczecinecko-pyrzycki, Koszaliński, Słupski, Starogardzki, Chojnicki, Gdański, Trójmiejski and Elbląski;
Sweden: counties of: Kalmar, Blekinge, Skåne and Kronoberg.

Application deadline: February 14.
