CREWS- Activating Citizens to Participate in Disaster Relief Efforts
active 7 months, 3 weeks agoOur motivation
We want to be prepared for unexpected developments.
We want to be able to response quickly to different kinds of disasters.
We want to help society to recover quickly.
We want to overcome and mitigate the limits of public authority’s disaster relief capacities.
Our approach
We want to increase our disaster preparedness by increasing the active engagement of civil society.
Therefore, we want to optimise the coordination of public and civil organisations for effective response to disaster situations.
Consequently, we need to build up capacities of public authorities enabling them to activate local communities to participate in disaster relief efforts.
Our solution
We develop, implement, teach and transfer a flexible and integrated methodology for disaster management collaboration in which public authorities and civil society actors complement each other in their actions in the best possible way.
– Prepare the methodology (“how to”)
– Test the methodology in difference disaster scenarios
– Elaborate a practical guideline based on the practical experiences
– Conceptualise and implement trainings
Our consortium
