NGO NEST Berlin e.V.(NEST) is a dynamic hub for research, education, and personal growth. As an educational provider, NGO NEST plays a pivotal role in supporting different audiences in acquiring new knowledge and skills in different sectors (social inclusion, social enterprise, digitalization, social and environmental sustainability, sport as a tool for education, among other topics). As a research hub for innovation in education and entrepreneurial sectors, NGO NEST cooperates with several research hubs and HEIs all over Europe and other parts of the world. As a hub for personal and professional growth, NGO NEST is a hosting organization for many young and adult trainees who are willing to upskill their personal and professional experiences. NEST collaborates with stakeholders throughout Europe, exchanging best practices in education, adult training, employability, social inclusion, and urban/rural development, aiming to positively impact Berlin's Wedding area.NEST plays a significant role in designing and managing international projects across various sectors, including Erasmus+, Horizon Europe 2020, AMIF, EuropeAid, and the European Solidarity Corps. They engage in sending and receiving young people from Europe and Africa, supporting international youth programs and global development efforts. NEST is a member organization within MV International (MVI), an international NGO network comprising 37 European member organizations, and is a founding member of the Alliance for Global Development (AGD), based at the University of Applied Sciences in Bonn. With 10 staff members and 20 local and international volunteers, with different expertise, NGO Nest has capacity to ensure the management of projects in the different phases. NEST Berlin has deployed research activities for Erasmus+educational projects in the following fields: Environment, Climate Change & Sustainability, Circular Economy, Digitalization, Social Inclusion and Integration (for people with fewer opportunities, migrants, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities), Tourism, Social Entrepreneurship, Agriculture, Clothing & Textile, Cyberbullying, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Human Equality and Rights, Sport, Privacy and Personal Data.NEST merged expertise into an approach that grounds transnational cooperation between VET providers, NGOs, and Businesses, providing a balanced picture of present challenges for inclusion and integration in Europe. NEST was foundedin 2016 by expert professionals active in the sectors / fields of NGO, Social Innovation, European project management, European mobility, Networking and Non-Formal Education (NFE) methodologies, and embodies today in its Berlin hub 4 staff members and 4 team members with professional competences / experiences in above mentioned domains. As a NEST is non-profit oriented, it performs crucial parts of its activity’s also on a voluntary base. At the ‘TUECHTIG room for inclusion’ NESTs has its office space, amidst other pioneers, freelancers and employees (with and without disabilities) of all ages and background.
