Personal description | I am an environmental scientist at the Leibniz Institut for Plasma Science and Technology (https://www.inp-greifswald.de/en/) in Germany. I am part of the research programme "Agriculture, Biomass and Decontamination", where our research interests focus on the development and application of plasma-based solutions for i) direct and indirect treatment of plants and seeds to reduce pathogens, induce stress resistance and provide an alternative to synthetic pesticides and conventional fertilizers, ii) the treatment of biomass such as sludge or manure to increase the organic matter availability, increase the biogas production, for nutrient recycling, or the treatment of e.g. algal biomass for the disintegration of cells as an alternative to conventional methods to extract valuable metabolites, iii) water treatment for the degradation and removal of biological and chemical pollutants in wastewater, drinking water, process water from industry, agriculture and aquaculture, iv) soil remediation for the degradation of chemical pollutants from agricultural soil and soil contaminated by industrial production. |
