I work as a coordinator for an annual theme day Baltic Sea Day in John Nurminen Foundation. Baltic Sea Day is an annual celebration aimed at people who live in or travel to countries bordering the Baltic Sea. The day has now been celebrated seven times – always on the last Thursday in August – and has gained a foothold particularly in Finland and Sweden, but also in Estonia. Our goal for the day is for it to be known among all Baltic Sea residents and for various actors to be inspired to take notice of the day by organizing events, gatherings, or simply communicating about the Baltic Sea and its significance.
