Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Foundation – We meet business and education to create leaders of tomorrow. The Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Foundation is one of the most important institutions committed to helping to create and develop innovative start-ups as well as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Gdańsk and Pomeranian region. Incubator STARTER, as a part of GEF, is not only a modern building available for start-ups and innovative companies, but most of all, it takes action to support entrepreneurial education and business people in the region. The main activities focus on mentoring, training and consultancy start-ups and entrepreneurs. In this area we conducted such projects as: ‘Business Booster’, that aims to develop innovativeness and creativity amongst young entrepreneurs; ‘Women Build Ships Too’ – project that focused on strengthening the leadership competencies of women in maritime and logistics industry; “Techseed” which is a training, mentoring and acceleration program for start-ups, that are about to enter the market with their product; the project provides them with individual sessions with professionals, as well as a training course on the core business competencies. Incubator Starter also supports industry initiatives which are in line with the activities of Pomeranian Smart Specializations (offshore and port-logistics industry specialization, that aims to strengthen international competitiveness and accelerate the growth rate of maritime economy enterprises in the Pomeranian Voivodeship), as well as provide support for activities within the existing startup ecosystem (Poland Prize Project – “Offer of the Pomeranian startup ecosystem for foreign innovative business ideas”, which focused on improving innovativeness of polish economy through innovation transfer from abroad). Incubator Starter is also involved in projects that aim to implement the entrepreneurial education programmes amongst youth.
