Right from the Start: Controlling Waste Sorting at the Source
active 5 days, 6 hours agoThis project focuses on waste sorting, circular economy, municipal cooperation, and citizen engagement. We aim to reduce contamination, improve recycling performance, and create a replicable model for urban waste systems.
We are looking for municipalities, waste operators, and research institutions to pilot and evaluate practical measures to improve primary waste sorting in residential areas.
The project will test a mix of control interventions – locked bins, on-site supervision, direct feedback to residents, and economic incentives – to boost correct sorting and reduce contamination.
Partners will contribute by providing test sites, sharing data, engaging with citizens, or evaluating the environmental and economic impact of the measures.
The goal is to co-create a scalable, tested, and cost-efficient model that public authorities can adopt to advance circular economy goals
