Health Horizon
active 1 week, 1 day agoAbout the Project
“Health Horizons” aims to address a vital challenge in the Baltic Sea region: limited access to health services and health information in rural and underserved areas. Through this initiative, we plan to empower young volunteers as health guides who will support elderly individuals in accessing better healthcare and essential health knowledge. Simultaneously, the project will create new economic opportunities for youth by inspiring them to pursue education or entrepreneurship in the health sector. By fostering intergenerational connections and promoting community-led solutions, the project aspires to build more resilient and vibrant rural communities in Germany, Finland, and Poland.
Key Activities
We plan to undertake the following activities to achieve these goals:
Recruitment and Training of Health Guides: Equipping youth volunteers with essential skills in health literacy, elder-care support, and entrepreneurship.
Innovation Activities: Hosting Health Innovation Labs, hackathons, and workshops with experienced mentors to inspire and empower youth in exploring health-sector opportunities.
Community Deployment: Facilitating health guides to organize community health events and provide direct assistance to elderly individuals.
Evaluation and Dissemination: Measuring the project’s impact and sharing best practices through events and a replication handbook.
Expected Outputs
Youth Engagement: Training 50–70 health guides.
Community Impact: Supporting 500 elderly beneficiaries with health services and improved access to knowledge.
Scalable Solutions: Developing actionable models and resources for broader implementation.
