The Faculty of Architecture (FA) of Riga Technical University is the leading institution in urban studies and architectural research and education in Latvia. The researchers at the FA work on such topics as architectural heritage, quality of living environment (especially in large-scale housing estates), quality and regeneration of public spaces, adaptive and participatory approaches for urban regeneration (e.g., co-design and participatory planning), climate change adaptation, and smart cities (specifically, smart governance and e-participation in urban planning). The FA promotes and facilitates interdisciplinary research for solving up-to-date urban challenges in cooperation with different actors.
