We hope that our commitment to research excellence and expert knowledge makes us an ideal partner for entities looking to shape urban and regional development. If interested in exploring potential collaboration? Below you can find a profile of three of our departments: The Climate Change Adaptation and NBS Group – is a new group within the Housing and Urban Renewal Team, where we deal with international cooperation and project activities. We focus on urban topics, including adapting cities to climate change, increasing urban resilience to natural disasters, planning NBS solutions and protecting biodiversity. We provide education, consulting, develop plans, analyses and organize pilot projects involving Polish cities. We have experience in international projects (LIFE) on integrating climate change adaptation into cities' land use policies, town planning and management documents. We are a member of the Polish NBS HUB and a partner in the NEB initiative. Urban Innovation Laboratory – at URBAN LAB we focus on issues related to the possibilities of adapting the smart city concept in Polish cities, primarily through the use of urban living labs and placemaking spaces, such as creative workshops, fab labs and makerspaces. One of our goals is to support cities in implementing and developing urban living labs and providing recommendations for solutions to improve the quality of life of their residents. We use both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, in-depth interviews (IDI), desk research analysis and benchmarking. We also conduct training sessions and workshops to assess the needs of the local community. We are actively building a network of cooperation with various institutions, individuals and urban stakeholders. We have experience in international projects (Visegrad Fund, InterReg, EIT, etc.), where we engage in topics such as tactical urbanism and placemaking, or creating networks involving different groups of urban stakeholders to stimulate social and economic development in an innovative environment. Revitalization Consulting Center – we are a team with many years of experience that advises Polish cities on revitalization and green urban renewal. We cooperate with government institutions such as the Ministry of Funds and Regional Development, cities and regions. We have participated as advisors and experts in pilot programs aimed at Polish cities. We conduct research, analysis, develop plans and programs and help prepare the implementation of solutions. We actively undertake cooperation with residents within the framework of participation and social inclusion in co-design.
