MunicipaLean – implementation of selected rules or tools of the Lean Management concept in local gov

Lean Management is a management and work organization method aimed at improving products or services, by eliminating all waste and cutting costs to achieve efficiency in all processes.
Project challenge: improvement of the quality of public services by implementing selected rules or tools of the Lean Management concept in local government units, whose aim is to minimize costs and reduce the scope of bureaucracy.
Currently, in the time of the economic crisis, triggered by the Pandemic and the war in Ukraine, organizations all around the world, municipalities included, must search for new solutions in order to deal with challenges, solve problems they meet and, adapt to changing reality.
The following challenges facing local governments have been identified:
– Need of constant quality improvement of public services.
– Searching for solutions improving way of working, minimising costs, reducing bureaucracy and raising the effectiveness of providing activities and tasks.
– Development of partnerships and cooperation, as well as human capital
– Development of social participation to meet local communities’ needs
The main goal of the project: implementation of innovative and pro-quality management methods in the public sector.
Through project implementation, many municipalities from different countries will get a universal solution and implement innovative management methods, suitable for their specific needs.
Project results:
1. implementation of the elements of the Lean Management concept in a target group of selected municipalities to cut costs of functioning, reduce bureaucracy, and raise the effectiveness and quality of public services.
2. Knowledge transfer, expanding employees’ knowledge by education, development of over-local and international cooperation, and social participation.
3. Creation of a universal toolkit for all municipalities in Lean Management subject.
We are looking for partners from the following Programme countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Germany, Sweden, and Norway, that are:
Municipalities, that are interested in Partnership as a target group, which means they would like to implement Lean Management.
Municipalities or business organizations using the Lean Management concept, interested in Partnership or another kind of cooperation by knowledge transfer and showing the way they implement the Lean Management Idea.
A partner can be an organization that joins municipalities together, such as an association or others.
